A Massachusetts teacher and her 15-year-old student were
found Tuesday morning in West Virginia. Lisa Lavoie, who taught eighth grade at
Maurice Donahue Elementary School, and the boy disappeared last week.
Authorities tracked the pair using cellular and credit
card records. They were found in a Morgantown hotel. The boy is said to be “doing
ok” and will be returned to his parents in Massachusetts soon.
Lavoie and the teen disappeared three days after the boy’s
mother contacted the school on February 13, saying she was concerned about her
son’s relationship with his teacher.
Lavoie, a first year teacher, has been charged with child
endangerment. A hearing is scheduled later Tuesday.
