U.S. Soldiers Reportedly Killed by Gunmen Wearing Iraqi Police Uniforms

Iraqi gunmen wearing police uniforms opened fire on a group of U.S. soldiers in the northern city of Mosul killing four Americans and an Iraqi interpreter working with the soldiers.

Reports have been conflicting as there has been no confirmation of the shooting from U.S. officials and an Iraqi interior ministry spokesman stated the shooting involved one policeman and an interpreter and no U.S. soldiers had been in the area.

It remains unclear if the gunmen were actually policemen or if they were just wearing the uniforms as a disguise.
