9 Year Old Bride Jayla Cooper Fulfills Dream

9-year-old Jayla Cooper’s dream of a perfect wedding came true last Sunday when she walked down the aisle with her friend, 7-year-old Jose Griggs.

Jayla was diagnosed with leukemia two years ago. She met Jose, who is recovering from leukemia, at the Children’s Medical Center for Cancer in Texas.

With only weeks left to live, Jayla’s family and friends granted her one of her last wishes – her dream wedding. Wearing a white tiered dress with a pink sash, Jayla walked down the aisle with her father Jerrod Cooper. She vowed “friendship forever” with Jose.

“I love him, and it was just really important to me. I had fun dancing with my dad and with him and my granny,” Jayla said.

As for the groom, his mother said “he’s having a hard time dealing with this” because he knows Jayla is about to die.

Jayla, her mom Lisa Cooper, dad, Jose and other friends and family had a honey moon at Greast Wolf Lodge, an indoor waterpark.
