SuperCamp academic summer camps announced an expansion of their teen summer camps in 2009 to include Spanish-language and Mandarin-language programs in addition to the traditional English-language camps.
The two foreign-language Senior Forum teen camps will be held at Cal State San Marcos in the San Diego area. The English-language programs are held at seven colleges throughout the U.S., including Stanford, Cornell and Wake Forest.
"The Mandarin and Spanish camps are a great 10-day immersion opportunity for high school students who are taking one of these languages at a high level in school," said Bobbi DePorter, SuperCamp president. "At the same time, they will receive all of SuperCamp’s standard learning and life skills training, which will help them in all subject areas and in their day-to-day lives."
In addition to the high school summer camps, SuperCamp runs similar learning and life skills camps for students entering grades 6-8 in the fall and a college skills camp for students entering and already in college.
Since SuperCamp launched in 1982, over 50,000 students have graduated. Independent studies with over 6,000 graduates report that the majority of students raise their grades, confidence and motivation following SuperCamp.
