U.S. President Barack Obama to Address Congress in Televised Speech Concerning Economy

U.S. President Barack Obama will be making a televised speech before both houses of Congress on Tuesday night in which he is expected to address the economic issues that the country is currently facing.

Obama will have plenty to cover as he has already seen his $787 billion stimulus plan passed as well as a banking and homeowner bailout initiative put in place. The stimulus plan was designed to not only stimulate the economy through tax cuts and government spending but also save and create jobs.

Members of the House and Senate will also likely hear Obama outline plans to cut the current deficit in half, a pledge he made earlier this month.

The speech will be televised at 9:00 p.m. ET
