NBA Scores: Kobe Bryant Wins Battle with Kevin Durant as LA Lakers Drop Oklahoma City Thunder

Kobe Bryant scored 36 points and dished out 5 assists, Pau Gasol addd 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 dimes and Derek Fisher chipped in 12 points as the Los Angeles Lakers (47-10) knocked off the Oklahoma City Thunder (13-44) 107-93 on Tuesday night for their fifth straight win.

L.A. controlled the game from the tip as they hit four three-pointers in the first quarter and led 32-22 at the end of the opening frame. The Lakers continued to dominate in eth second as they pushed their advantage to as many as 18 points before settling with a 56-44 lead at the break.

The second half started in the same manner as the first as the Lakers kept the pressure on the Thunder but Oklahoma City began to chip away at the L.A. lead and when Kevin Durant hit a three-pointer with 28 seconds left in the third he had his club within 75-68 heading into the fourth.

A 12-4 run to start the final frame pulled Oklahoma City to 81-80 but Bryant ran off six straight points to give the Lakers a 7-point cushion with 7:33 left on the clock and the Thunder never got closer than five the rest of the way.

The Lakers shot 52 percent from the floor on the night to overcome a 32 point, 10 rebound and 6 assist effort from Durant.
