Luis
Castillo went 2-3 with 4 RBIs from the leadoff spot, Angel Pagan collected 3
hits in 4 at bats and Ryan Church plated 3 runs on a pair of doubles as the New
York Mets hammered out 15 hits in a 9-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles during
spring training action on Wednesday.
The
Orioles jumped to a 1-0 lead in the first inning as they chased Mets’ starter
Sean Green before he could get out of the frame but NY went up 2-1 in the top
of the second after getting to Orioles starter Brad Hennessey.
NY
then tacked on another four runs in the third, all four coming off David Pauley
who surrendered five hits and retired just one batter, leaving the game with an
impressive 108.00 ERA.
The
Mets also had strong games from Daniel Murphy who went 2-3 while Nick Evans had
a 3-4 day.
