Two years would seem like enough time to get over a bitter divorce, but that isn’t so for Christie Brinkley. She still has resentment towards her last husband and the divorce agreement.
Brinkley has been married four times; a divorce attorney can attest to the fact that people married multiple times often seek dissolution. Her last marriage was to David Cook, who was caught cheating. She told the UK magazine Stella, “I can say equivocally that I will never get married again.”
Her bitterness over her latest divorce stems from what she feels is an unfair settlement, especially since she took her vows seriously, and the court didn’t take that into consideration. Brinkley says, “The court doesn’t recognize that. It’s like ‘All right now we are going to divvy up the kids.’ Well, the one who didn’t break the vows should be the role model, but no.” An experienced divorce lawyer should make it easier for the spouse who has more moral grounding to receive a favorable judgment.
Even though she has given up on marriage she hasn’t given up on love.
Brinkley’s first marriages were to artist Jean-Francois Allaux, singer Billy Joel, real-estate developer Richard Taubman.
The rate of divorce increases with each marriage. Couples with many assets and children are advised to hire a divorce attorney to assure they are going to get an appropriate settlement, and fair custody of the children.
