Los Angeles Police Search for Grim Sleeper Serial Killer

Los Angeles police are asking for any information that will lead to the identification and arrest of a serial killer dubbed the ‘Grim Sleeper.’

Authorities say the killer murdered at least 11 people from 1985 to 2007. He was dubbed the Grim Sleeper because he seemed to take breaks between the killings. All of his victims were shot with a .35 caliber gun.

This week the police department released a 9-1-1 tape in which an anonymous caller reports one of the murders in 1987.They hope the tape will lead to more clues.

“Yes…I’d like to report a murder. The guy that dropped her off was driving a white and blue Dodge van. He threw her out…He threw a gas tank on top of her. All that you can see sticking out is her feet,” the caller tells a 9-1-1 dispatcher.

The van described by the caller was found, but police are still searching for the caller and members of a church that owned the van.

A $500,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
