In its commitment to ensure academic excellence, the
prestigious Auro University, being established in Surat under the Gujarat
Private Universities Act of 2009, has announced two scholarships for students
who have showed excellent academic achievement: The Rama Scholarship for
Outstanding Academic Achievement and the Need-Based Scholarship for Deserving
Applicant.
The Rama scholarship is available to ALL undergraduate applicants of the
university, excluding students wishing to apply for Exchange Programs. This
scholarship provides a waiver of Rs 1,00,000, distributed over two semesters,
to a student scoring 85% in Class XII exams, provided the student maintains a
B+ average (3.3/4.0) CGPA.
Students scoring between 75% and 85% are also eligible for the Rama
scholarship. Such students will receive an annual tuition waiver of Rs. 50,000,
distributed over two semesters, provided the students maintain a B+ (3.3/4.0)
average CGPA.
In addition, Auro University also announces the Need-Based Scholarship for
meritorious students from financially challenged backgrounds. Students whose
gross family income is below Rs. 400,000 per annum are eligible to apply for
this scholarship. Under the need-based scholarship, five scholarships per
course will be granted every year, where the full tuition fee of the students
will be waived off. The scholarship committee however reserves the right to
decide on the percentage of tuition fee to be waived off, as per the need and
academic performance of the students.
What else can be a boon for meritorious and hard working students than getting
their full tuition fee waived off—this is indeed a great initiative from the
Auro University and a win-win situation for hard working students. Furthermore,
the university considers the best five subjects of the course to compute the
aggregated score while considering and awarding the scholarships.
With these scholarship announcements early in the year, the university aims to
ensure that deserving candidates are the beneficiaries. Thus, the university
requests deserving students to apply for these scholarships at the earliest for
the scholarship committee to have enough time to scrutinize the applications.
