Kenshin
Kawakami tossed two hitless innings and struck out one while Chipper Jones hit a
two-run homer and Brian McCann went 1-1 with a pair of walks as the Atlanta
Braves knocked off the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-2 in spring training action on
Friday.
Kawakami
had no trouble in his first appearance in with the Braves as he breezed through
his two innings. Atlanta put a run on the board in the top of the third and
Greg Norton added another with a solo blast in the fourth. Chipper Ones made it
4-0 in the fifth with his two-run bomb.
The
Braves also got two strong innings from Buddy Carlyle who struck out three.
