LA Art Walk turns tragic, infant is seriously injured

By: Daun Lee

An Art Walk in downtown Los Angeles turned tragic today when an infant and its mother were struck by a car sending both to the hospital.

An individual was attempting to park their newly acquired Cadillac in the crowded area of Spring St near Fourth St. The driver pressed the accelerator instead of the brake and the car jumped the curb striking a woman, who was on the sidewalk and her infant, who was in a stroller.

LA police officer confirmed to the Huffington Post that the child is listed in critical condition and is on life support. The mother was also seriously injured.

It may be necessary to hire an accident attorney to settle with the driver’s insurance company.

The impact of the crash sheared off a parking meter. The driver hasn’t been charged with anything.  No drugs or alcohol were involved. The LAPD is still conducting an investigation.

Pedestrians are often the casualties of negligent drivers. The word accident implies that a person doesn’t intend to harm another, but it does happen. The injuries that a pedestrian sustains after being stuck by an automobile can be very severe and debilitating.

Pedestrians victims of accidents need to be awarded compensation for their medical care and an accident lawyer can fight to assure this happens.  Insurance companies will often try to pay as little to accident victims as possible, because of this accident attorneys are necessary for negotiation and litigation.
