After
three months in police custody Jestina Mukoko, a prominent human rights
activist in Zimbabwe, has been freed.
Mukoko
was arrested three months ago after she was accused of trying to recruit people
for military training as a means of overthrowing President Robert Mugabe.
Movement
for Democratic Change leader Morgan Tsvangirai had said earlier that he would
not join a unity government unless Mukoko, along with other activists, were
freed from custody.
As
part of her release Mukoko was forced to pay $600 in bail as well as surrender
her passport and turn the deed to her house over to officials.
