Cable on Ski Chairlift Snaps, 17 Injured

A cable attached to a ski chairlift snapped while carrying skiers in the small resort town of Pradollano in Spain’s Sierra Nevada, leaving 17 people injured.

According to reports the cable snapped and the chairs were sent several feet to the ground causing cuts and bruises to the skiers. None of the skiers were seriously injured and all were treated at a medical center inside the resort.

It is believed the heavy snowfall helped cushion the fall for the skiers.
