NBA Scores: LeBron James Scores 42 as Cleveland Cavaliers Rally to Drop Miami Heat

LeBron James scored 42 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, Mo Williams added 30 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and Zydrunas Ilgauskas chipped in 12 points and grabbed 15 boards as the Cleveland Cavaliers (47-12) overcame 41 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists from Dwyane Wade to beat the Miami Heat (31-28) 107-100 on Monday night.

LeBron scored 14 points in the first quarter as the Cavaliers held a 30-26 advantage after one but the Heat managed to put together a 16-7 spurt in the middle of the second frame to grab a 45-40 lead. Cleveland fought back and when LeBron’s three-pointer with 11 seconds left on the clock gave the Cavaliers a 58-55 lead at the break.

Cleveland pushed their lead to six in the third quarter but the Heat closed the half on a 12-3 run to head into the fourth with an 82-76 advantage. Wade pushed Miami’s lead to 91-80 in the opening minutes of the frame only to see that swallowed by a 12-0 run by Cleveland.

After Jermaine O’Neal put the Heat in front 93-92 LeBron hit back-to-back triples to give Cleveland a 98-93 lead and the Heat never recovered.

Cleveland hit 11-17 from beyond the three-point line while Miami connected on just 5-18 from that same distance.
