German Rescue Crews Searching for at least 9 People Believed Trapped Following Building Collapse

German rescue teams are searching for at last nine people are believed to be trapped following the collapse of a building in Cologne.

 

It is not known what caused the city’s historic archive to collapse but those inside the building said they had heard noises prior to the disaster and many were able to escape before complete collapse. According to reports many employees had expressed concern over the past few weeks regarding cracks inside the building but it is not known if those played a role in Tuesday’s events.

 

Witnesses have said the building did not collapse all at once, allowing many to get out. Now rescue crews are focused on searching for the nine people who have not been seen since the collapse.
