Kenya’s President Mwai Kibaki Denies Rumors of “Second Wife”

Kenya’s President Mwai Kibaki has denied rumors that he has a “second wife” and threatened to sue anybody who continues to repeat the charge.

Kibaki held a press conference to deny the rumors declaring, “I want to make it very clear that I have only one dear wife, Lucy, who's here, and I do not have any other. Anybody who knows me and knows my family and knows how I live - they know I have only one wife.”

Rumors of a mistress have followed Kibaki since he took office in 2002 and while the office of the president has refuted such claims the rumors have persisted.
