The Coast Guard plans to end their search for three
missing boaters, who were lost as sea Saturday after their boat overturned off
the coast of Clearwater, Florida. The search will end at sundown or around 6:30
p.m.
“We’re extremely confident that if there were any [other]
survivors on the surface of the water that we would have found them,” says
Coast Guard Captain Timothy Close.
The missing includes Oakland Raiders linebacker Marquis
Cooper, NFL free agent Corey Smith and former college football player William
Bleakley. Former college player Nick Schuyler was found alive and sitting on
top of the overturned boat Monday afternoon.
The four men set out on a 21-foot single-engine boat Saturday
morning to fish. Schuyler said the boat capsized in a storm and he and his
friends clung to the boat but got separated.
