Academic Summer Camp Staff Diligently Prepare for the Summer Months

SuperCamp facilitators to attend an annual three-day training in Oceanside, California

Summer is months away, but the training season for academic summer camp SuperCamp's staff is in full swing. Beginning March 12, over 80 of SuperCamp's most talented instructors from around the world will gather at the QLN training facility in Oceanside, California, for the annual Know It By Heart facilitator training, a weekend of preparation for the busy summer to come. The training theme for this year is “Prepare so we don’t have to repair.”

At this intensive three-day training, the outstanding SuperCamp leadership team will discuss new policies and alignments for program needs based on feedback from previous staff and camper experiences. The majority of the training is interactive, meaning that facilitators train each other, giving feedback on how to best navigate their skills when presenting material to students, as well as encouraging each other to be their best selves. This facilitator team-building is essential to the training process because it ensures that when students show up to camp this summer, facilitators will have worked out all relational kinks and be able to focus solely on the campers.

Each spring, SuperCamp Programs Department fine-tunes the delivery of Quantum Reading, Writing and Strategies content, with the intention that every student learning the curriculum worldwide will hear the same information based on current research and trends. Know It By Heart assures that every facilitator at each of the seven
summer camp locations is on the same page in their facilitation material and delivery methods.

High-quality training has given SuperCamp over 27 years of excellence in program delivery because the instructors have extensively prepared the material before-hand. It is SuperCamp's belief that this high-quality preparation of
summer camp staff brings the best out of every student attending SuperCamp.
