Prince Charles Beats Barack Obama as Esquire Best Dressed Man

Esquire magazine has named Prince Charles the world’s best dressed man. The 60-year-old heir to the British throne beat off competition from US president Barack Obama, tennis champ Roger Federer and actor Bill Nighy.

“He is perfectly turned out in a double-breasted suit. Admirably, the prince keeps his wardrobe in appropriate style: we’re told he had a room laid out like a tailor’s show,” Esquire says.

The men’s magazine says Prince Charles is “always incredibly dressed” with his pocket handkerchiefs and silk ties.

President Obama was fourth on the top 10 list, beat by comedian Ronnie Corbett and actor Bill Nighy in second and third place respectively. Also making the list is artist David Hockeny in seventh, tennis star Roger Federer in eighth and rapper Andre 3000 in tenth.

British prime minister Gordon Brown and London Mayor Boris Johnson were named the worst dressed. Esquire noted that Brown once “turned up in the Iraqi desert wearing black lace-ups” while Johnson has “jacket pockets like second-hand bookshops, and hair the result of an encounter with a ghost in a wind tunnel.”
