Standing
before a throng of fans in London pop legend Michael Jackson announced that he
will be performing a series of shows at the city’s O2 arena in July and told
the crowd “this is it,” likely signaling the end to any future stage
performances.
Jackson
said he would be performing songs chosen by his fans during a string of shows
to begin in July. Coincidentally it was in London that Jackson last performed
live and that didn’t go over well as he left fans at the 2006 World Music
Awards disappointed.
The
50-year-old appeared determined to go out on top during his announcement but
was adamant when announcing the shows as his final run. While Jackson stated, “This
is it. I just want to say that his will be my final show performances in
London. This will be it. When I say this it, it really means this is it” it
does leave the door open for a possible tour that would involve other cities.
