Zimbabwe’s PM Morgan Tsvangirai and Wife Involved in Car Accident, Injuries Reported

Morgan Tsvangirai, the newly appointed prime minister of Zimbabwe, along with his wife Susan have been involved in a car accident and early reports have indicated that she was badly injured in the crash.

The two had been traveling just south of Harare when the accident occurred and while the PM was said to have been slightly injured the condition of his wife was said to be more serious.

Tsvangirai, leader of the Movement for Democratic Change party, was just recently appointed prime minister after agreeing to a power-sharing deal with Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe.

According to MDC spokesman Nelson Chamisa, who spoke with Reuters, “We have just heard that there was an accident of sorts involving the president of the party. Injuries, yes, but not critical condition, we are still assessing the actual condition.”
