NCR installs immigration kiosks in Texas and Georgia

By: Daun Lee

A Duluth, Georgia company NCR who specializes in self-service technologies will install kiosks to help legal immigrants with their citizenship applications. The first kiosk will appear in Georgia and Texas.

The NCR kiosks will run ClearPath software, which is designed to help immigrants to fill out immigration forms in both Spanish and English. This includes citizenship and visa applications.

When filling out citizenship applications, it is crucial that the paperwork is filled out correctly, for this reason numerous individuals employ immigration attorneys to help them with the process. Any mistake can affect a person’s immigration status, and jeopardize their chances of obtaining citizenship.

Over 100 million immigration forms are filed each year in the US. Many of these people will use notarios, third parties who are experts in immigration laws.  Notarios, however, cannot match the expertise of an immigration lawyer, who spends years learning the complexities of visa and naturalization laws.

The kiosks will provide a cost-effective way to fill out visa and citizenship applications. This is good for hopeful immigrants who don’t have thousands to spend on the naturalization process.

Though the kiosks may be a valuable tool for immigrants with low incomes, there is always a risk that their citizenship or visa applications will be denied. Retaining an immigration attorney increases the likelihood that a citizenship application is approved. There is much to lose if the legal immigrant is denied naturalization; they face deportation and eventual separation from their families.
