A memorial service for former University of South Florida football player William Bleakley will be held on Saturday at the Crystal River United Methodist Church in Clearwater, Florida.
Bleakley was one of the four men on the 21-foot fishing boat that was lost at sea in the Gulf of Mexico last Saturday. He had joined NFL players Marquis Cooper and Corey Smith as well as former USF teammate Nick Schuyler on the ill-fated fishing expedition.
The men went out early Saturday morning and when they never returned the Florida Coast Guard was notified that the men were missing. A massive search was launched and on Monday Schuyler was found clinging to the overturned boat but Bleakley, Cooper and Smith were never found.
A search for the three continued through Tuesday before the Coast Guard called off the search after determining the chances of finding the men after three days was near impossible.
The memorial service for Bleakley is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. ET.
