Eminem to Release Two Albums in 2009 Following Studio Work with Dr. Dre

Critically acclaimed rap superstar Eminem has announced he will be releasing a pair of albums in 2009 with the first, Relapse, expected to hit shelves sometime in May.

Relapse was due to be released in late 2008/early 2009 but after heading back to the studio with long-time collaborator Dr. Dre for some finishing touches he instantly began working on new material and rather than stop to push the album he kept writing for six months.

Now the rapper plans on releasing Relapse 2 a few months after the original. Reflecting on how productive his studio sessions went with Dre the 36-year-old stated, “We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre. Putting out Relapse 2 will let everyone get all of the best stuff.”

Eminem, real name Marshall Mathers III, has won nine Grammy Awards, six American Music Awards and an Academy Award of for Best Original Song for Lose Yourself for the film “8 Mile.”
