Terrell Owens Signs One-Year Deal with Buffalo Bills

Terrell Owens was unemployed for less than a week as the controversial wide receiver inked a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills on Saturday worth a reported $6.5 million.

Owens, 35, was cut by the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday after three seasons with the club but his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, assured NFL analysts and sports writers that his talented client wouldn’t be without a team for long.

For the Bills the arrival of the six-time All-Pro should immediately impact their troubles in the passing game. Over the past two seasons the Bills have managed just 15 touchdowns through the air while Owens has hauled in 25 TDs over that same period.

Bills owner Ralph Wilson released a statement following the signing in which he said, “We all know of his tremendous ability and look forward to what he will bring to our offense. This is a very exciting day for the Buffalo Bills.”

Owens ranks second all-time in touchdown receptions with 139, trailing only Jerry Rice and has 951 career receptions.
