NBA Scores: Orlando Magic Down Boston Celtics Behind Double-Double from Dwight Howard

Dwight Howard had 18 points and 15 rebounds, Rafer Alston added 10 points and 8 assists and Hedo Turkoglu finished with 16 points on 3-6 shooting from beyond the three-point line as the Orlando Magic (46-16) knocked off the Boston Celtics (49-15) 86-79 on Sunday for their fourth straight win.

Boston managed just 15 points in the opening frame as the Magic carried a 22-15 advantage into the second. That lead was quickly extended to 29-15 after a pair of jumpers from Anthony Johnson and a three-pointer from J.J. Redick. Orlando led by as many as 22 points in the quarter before settling on a 51-33 lead at the break.

Ray Allen, who finished with 32 points on the day, did his best to keep the Celtics in the game and his jumper with 7:03 left in the fourth pulled Boston to within 74-66 but the Magic managed to push the score to 82-70 with 4:07 on the clock. Allen then ran off nine straight points to put Boston to within 82-79 with just over a minute left but the Magic hit their free-throws down the stretch to secure the win.

The Celtics shot just 39 percent from the floor, hitting a poor 2-10 from beyond the three-point arc while The Magic hoisted 22 shots from that distance and hit eight.
