SuperCamp, a leading academic summer camp, announced today that it is accepting applications for its 2009 summer academic programs. This year's programs will be held at seven U.S. colleges, including Stanford, Cornell and Wake Forest University.
"The camps fill up early every year," said Joe Chapon, Vice President of the teen academic camps. "Parents who are looking at summer enrichment programs should act quickly to ensure they get a spot in SuperCamp this year."
SuperCamp offers programs for high school students entering grades 9-12 in the upcoming fall and for students entering grades 6-8 in the fall. In addition, SuperCamp runs a college skills camp, Quantum U, for students entering or already in college. This program is held at Colorado College in Colorado Springs.
The demand to get into SuperCamp is reflected in the fact that each year enrollments are received from all 50 states and over 30 countries worldwide. As a result, not all students who apply are able to get their first choice in terms of location and dates. And, as summer approaches, many students aren't able to get into SuperCamp at all.
This year, for the first time, SuperCamp is offering its high school program in two other languages, Spanish and Mandarin. Both of these 10-day camps will provide the same learning and life skills curriculum as the traditional SuperCamp. The two camps will run concurrently, July 8-17, at Cal State San Marcos in north county San Diego.
One of the primary reasons for the popularity of SuperCamp is the dramatic results parents and students see from the 10-day program. Independent studies with over 6,000 of the camps 50,000+ graduates reports better grades, more confidence and higher levels of motivation among the majority of SuperCamp graduates.
