Stone-Tec, Inc. is a full service turnkey supplier, fabricator, and installer of natural stone (slab and tile), ceramic tile, and mosaic (stone, glass, and metal) tile products. Founded 20 years ago by Rupy Shah, today Stone-Tec is a major provider of some of finest stone products available, such as marble and granite, with their products gracing some of the most prestigious homes and offices in all of Texas.

"You want to be in a bathroom or a kitchen where you're happy, where it's clean, where it's neat,” says Shah. “What better thing to have than stone?"

Stone-Tec imports all of its stone from quarries all over the world, typically from Italy, India and France. Each location offers different patterns and colors, based on the minerals in the ground and how strong they are. Once it’s been delivered to Stone-Tec’s 85,000 square foot warehouse they fabricate the stone and they install it.

In addition, Shah’s extensive knowledge of stone allows her to advise designers and architects when certain stone isn’t appropriate for outside applications. A designer typically only looks at colors so a client often has to be educated. Shah can provide that education.

The Ray Hunt Oil Building is now a landmark in downtown Dallas. Every floor of the building uses a different stone from a different part of the world. Mr. Hunt himself, along with the architects for the building, worked very closely together with Stone-Tec to choose all the stone used. While the company concentrates on work in the Dallas area, Stone-Tec is currently working on a commercial installation in the Shell Building in Austin. Other Dallas work includes the lobbies at the Ritz Carlton and Stoneleigh Residences.
