NBA Scores: Cleveland Cavaliers Hand Phoenix Suns Sixth Straight Loss as LeBron James Records Triple-Double

LeBron James scored 34 points, dished out 13 assist and grabbed 10 rebounds, Mo Williams added 30 points and pulled down 5 boards and Sasha Pavlovic finished with 16 points and ht 3-5 from beyond the three-point line as the Cleveland Cavaliers (51-13) went on the road and handed the Phoenix Suns (34-31) their sixth straight loss 119-111 on Thursday night.

Cleveland got 11 points from Williams in the first quarter and hit five three-pointers to take a 30-27 lead at the end of the frame. The Cavaliers managed to push their lead to seven in the second quarter but the Suns closed their deficit to 58-56 after Matt Barnes buried a three-pointer and by the end of the half Phoenix was within 63-62.

Phoenix opened the second half with a 12-3 run to take a 74-66 lead and they appeared to have complete control of the game after Jason Richardson hit a triple to put them up 84-75 with 4:43 remaining in the third. Cleveland answered though as Wally Szczerbiak sank a pair of three-pointers and LeBron hit a running layup and the Cavs were back to within 84-83.

The Cavaliers started the fourth quarter trailing 93-89 but Pavlovic hit three three-pointers during a 12-2 run to take a 101-95 lead. Phoenix was able to get back to within one but Cleveland answered with a 10-2 spurt to extend their lead to 111-102 and Phoenix couldn’t get closer than four the rest of the way.

Cleveland hit 17-33 from beyond the three-point line compared to a 4-18 effort by Phoenix from the same distance.
