Gospel Singer BeBe Winans Arrested for Domestic Assault

Grammy winning Gospel singer BeBe Winans was arrested Thursday on domestic assault charges for allegedly shoving his ex-wife Debra to the ground.

According to court documents, the pair got into a “verbal altercation” February 13 at Debra’s Nashville home when Winans came to pick up their children. They were fighting over custody issues when Winans became “became irate” and knocked Debra to the ground.

“The victim was telling the defendant of issues with the children when he became irate. The defendant then pushed the victim to the ground. Winans was arrested yesterday on a misdemeanor domestic assault charge,” says court papers.

Winans, 46, was held at the Davidson County jail before posting $1,000 bond.

Winans is best known for his albums recorded with his sister CeCe Winans. Their next album, TBA, is due out this year.  He has also recorded six solo albums.
