Jon Stewart Trades Verbal Blows with “Mad Money” Host Jim Cramer

Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart continued his verbal sparring with CNBC’s “Mad Money” host Jim Cramer on Thursday as he accused the former hedge fund manager of stepping away from journalism and using his show for entertainment purposes only.

Stewart and Cramer have been exchanging barbs over the past week as “The Daily Show” has been extremely critical of CNBC’s apparent willingness to swallow corporate lies and pass them off as truth to viewers who used the outlook for financial advice. Stewart ultimately claimed that CNBC was in bed with the corporations that they highlighted and that helped bolster their bottom line.

On Thursday an airing of Cramer on “The Martha Stewart Show” displayed the stock analyst pounding on a mound of flour that he pretended was Stewart. In response to the clip Stewart quipped, “Mr. Cramer, don’t you destroy enough dough on your own show?”

While the two haven’t exactly been allies Cramer did admit that he felt he should have been able to foresee the economic collapse and acknowledged that CNBC was fair game to the criticism being doled out.
