Big Ten Basketball Conference Tournament Semifinals Schedule: Michigan State Still Searching for #1 Seed in NCAA Tournament

The Big Ten quarterfinals on Friday busted plenty of bubbles but Saturday has plenty of questions as the conference’s top four teams are all in action with NCAA tournament seeding at stake.

In game one the Michigan State Spartans (26-5, 15-3) will continue to make their case for a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament as they take on the Ohio State Buckeyes (21-9, 10-8) at 1:40 p.m. ET. The Spartans ended the Minnesota Gophers hopes of an NCAA bid and could possibly do the same to the Buckeyes as they eye the NCAA tournament. Ohio State is really in desperate need of a win, especially because they’ve dropped both games to Michigan State this year.

The Purdue Boilermakers (23-9, 11-7) will be facing the Illinois Fighting Illini (24-8, 11-7) in the second Big Ten semifinals game to be played at 4:05 p.m. ET. Purdue ended Penn State’s hopes of an NCAA tournament bid while Illinois did the same to Michigan but both teams would rest easier about their own fate with a win on Saturday. Purdue lacks quality wins outside the Big Ten with losses to Oklahoma and Duke on their record and they’ve dropped both games against Illinois this year. The Illini don’t exactly have quality wins on their resume but they haven’t lost any bad games either.
