SEC Conference Tournament Finals Schedule: Mississippi State in Need of Win for NCAA Tournament Berth, Tennessee has Other Ideas

The Mississippi State Bulldogs has earned upset win after upset win to reach the SEC conference tournament finals but they’ll need one more if they are to punch their ticket to the NCAA tournament and that win will have to come against the Tennessee Volunteers who have cruised into the SEC conference tournament finals with relatively easy wins in their two games.

Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m. ET from the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Florida.

Mississippi State (22-12, 9-7) entered the SEC conference tournament needing a championship title to get an NCAA tournament bid and from game one they’ve attacked their opponents, blasting Georgia, South Carolina and LSU to reach the finals. The Bulldogs have won five straight after dropping five of six late in the year. For Tennessee (21-11, 10-6), the Volunteers have been able to shake off some ugly losses in the SEC including two to Kentucky and loses to Mississippi and Alabama. They are an almost certain bet to make the NCAA tournament but a win would let them rest a bit easier.
