Iraqi Soccer Player Shot and Killed by Fan During Match

An Iraqi soccer player who was in the midst of scoring the equalizing goal in the final minute of a match was shot and killed by a rival fan on Sunday.

According to reports the player had been in position to even the score between local rivals Sinjar and Buhayra when the fan shot the player in the head.

Police in the city of Hilla arrested the gunman and are investigating the murder.
