Duke Blue Devils Capture ACC Conference Tournament Championship with Win Over Florida State Seminoles

Jon Scheyer scored 29 points and sank 13 of 15 from the free-throw line, Gerald Henderson added 27 points and four assists and Kyle Singler finished with 14 points as the Duke Blue Devils knocked off the Florida State Seminoles 79-69 on Sunday to win the ACC conference tournament championship.

Florida State hung with the Blue Devils for the first seven minutes of the game as Toney Douglas gave the Seminoles an 11-9 advantage after burying a three-pointer but Duke then went on a 14-0 run, with Singler hitting three three-pointers in the spurt, to put them in front 23-11. Chris Singleton stopped the bleeding with a triple at the 8:04 mark but the Seminoles would go the rest of the half without a field goal as Duke led 35-21 at the break.

The Seminoles managed to cut into the Duke lead in the second half and were within six at the twelve minute mark but the Blue Devils went on a 23-7 run that boosted their lead to 65-43 with 6:28 on the clock and FSU couldn’t overcome the deficit.
