Meghan McCain Fights Back Against Fat Comments on The View

Meghan McCain appeared on The View Monday to respond to criticism by conservative radio show host Laura Ingraham.

Last week, Ingrham slammed McCain as a “Valley girl gone awry” and a “plus-sized” model after he daughter of former Republican Presidential nominee John McCain urged Republicans and Democrats to compromise.

McCain didn’t take the comments lightly and fought back on The View saying she was “infuriated” at Ingraham’s insults. “What do young women think when I speak my mind about politics and I want to have a political discussion about the ideological future of the Republican Party, and the answer is, ‘She’s fat, she shouldn’t have an opinion.’ What kind of message are we sending young women?” said McCain, who writes about politics for The Daily Beast.  “It infuriates me. I’m a political writer on a blog and all of a sudden I’m too fat to write?”

McCain added that she feels like model Tyra Banks, who was faced with weight criticism and went on her talk show wearing a bathing suit and said, “Kiss my fat ass.”

“That’s what I feel right now. I’m like, ‘Kiss my fat ass!” McCain said.

Ingraham responded to McCain’s View appearance saying, “Can I say lighten up, or is that too offensive to?”
