As Lockout Continues NBA Players Like Amare Stoudemire Field Options Overseas

Monday afternoon as Amare Stoudemire unveiled his women's clothing line to the media he also spoke about the number of calls he had been getting from foreign basketball teams. During the lockout many NBA players have been exploring overseas options and Amare is no different, saying he has received calls from Israel, China, Turkey and Spain.

Although at first he seemed resistant to heading overseas as the lockout begins to look like it will affect the regular season he sounds more like a man willing to travel. Asked about playing abroad during a lockout Stoudemire said, "the chances would be high."

Before he goes anywhere he's going to make sure that he is healthy though. He said that he has been doing no cardio and no weightlifting during the offseason in an attempt to get healthier. Then he said he would be organizing a "training camp" of sorts with his Knicks teammates.

Whether Stoudemire, and likely others, decide to play abroad depends on how long the lockout lasts and how much money they stand to lose, so only time will tell.
