SuperCamp's Spanish-language immersion summer enrichment camp has firmed up dates for summer 2009 at Cal State San Marcos in San Diego County. The 10-day residential summer enrichment program will run June 26 through July 5. This Senior Forum summer enrichment camp is for students entering grades 9-12 in fall 2009.
SuperCamp helps to develop teens' character, values, motivation, confidence, self-esteem, and other personal traits through life-skills training. Campers also gain practical learning skills that help them in every subject at school and help prepare them for college.
Here are the skills that participants in the Spanish immersion camp will acquire: Study strategies, Reading speed and comprehension, Creative writing, Note-taking, Memory techniques, 8 Keys of Excellence, Positive communication, Positive relationships, Creative thinking, Goal-setting and Problem-solving
Campers also enjoy an outdoor adventure day where they break through their limitations, while challenging themselves physically and mentally in fun, team-building activities.
In a major study with over 6,000 SuperCamp graduates, researchers found that after attending SuperCamp 84% of graduates increased their self-esteem, 68% increased their motivation, 73% improved their grades, 81% gained confidence and 98% continued using one or more skills for at least five years.
Saschia Seibel, from the Dominican Republic, will lead this SuperCamp program. Ms. Seibel has been running SuperCamp programs in Latin America since 2005. She will be supported by a highly-trained team of facilitators, team leaders and support staff.
