The FDA recently approved new tool to be used for liposuction. The new tool is a rotational hand piece with multiple power settings called Power X and allows doctors the ability to remove small to large volumes of fat.
There are a number of methods that a surgeon can employ to remove excess fat form their clients. The method of body contouring used on patients is dependent on the individual needs of the patient. For some they want to remove a little fat, but others may require removal of larger volumes of fat in areas such as the abdomen and buttocks.
The Power X tool helps reduce physician fatigue by allowing more time for fat aspiration, and can be used with a custom designed cannula. Because the Power X tool has a rotational head, fat can be removed all around the cannula and can be used with the various liposuction techniques. The speed of suction can also be increased or decreased according to the surgeon’s needs.
Liposuction is one of the top aesthetic surgery procedures that people request. Through the years plastic surgeons have developed safer and more efficient tools and techniques for contouring the body.
Although the Power X tools facilitates removal of larger volumes of fat, liposuction is not intended for obese patients. A perfect candidate is a person who has reached a healthy weight and can maintain it for a period of time. Liposuction gives patients the opportunity to target areas of the body that retain fat despite diet and exercise.
