NCAA Tournament West Region Scores: #1 Connecticut Huskies Crush #9 Texas A&M Aggies to Move into Sweet 16

A.J. Price scored 27 points and 9 assists, Jeff Adrien added 23 points and grabbed 8 rebounds and Stanley Robinson chipped in 12 points and pulled down 6 boards as the #1 Connecticut Huskies cruised to an easy 92-66 victory over the #9 Texas Aggies on Saturday to advance to the Sweet 16 on the NCAA tournament.

Connecticut wasted little time in putting the Aggies on their heels as they jumped to a 10-0 lead with Adrien scoring six of those points. The Huskies never let up on Texas A&M as they added runs of 13-1 and 13-2 to build a 51-33 lead at the break.

The second half was more the same for the Aggies as Connecticut couldn’t miss from the floor with Price scoring 13 points in the first ten minutes of the frame and the Huskies extended their lead to 73-52. With their hot shooting the Huskies never had to worry about a Texas A&M run.

Connecticut shot a solid 57 percent from the floor and hit 5-10 from beyond the three-point line while outrebounding Texas A&M 36-24.
