NCAA Tournament West Region Scores: #2 Memphis Tigers End Cinderella Hopes of #10 Maryland Terrapins in Blowout

Tyreke Evans scored 19 points and dished out 5 assists, Shawn Taggart added 14 points and 11 rebounds while Robert Dozier and Doneal Mack each scored 17 points as the #2 Memphis Tigers crushed the #10 Maryland Terrapins 89-70 in West Region action on Saturday to advance to the Sweet 16.

Maryland held a lead for a total of 29 seconds in the game as they led 2-0 and then 4-2 but when Evans hit a three-pointer to start a 15-0 run, of which he had 11, Memphis was in complete control. The Terrapins tried to stay relatively close to the Tigers and were within 13 with four minutes left in the first half but Memphis continued to score at will and closed the half on a 14-7 spurt to lead 53-33.

The second half was no better for the Terrapins as they were never closer than 17 points and Mmephis led by as many as 29 in the frame.

Memphis hit a amazing 58 percent from the floor and sank 10-19 from beyond the three-point line while hitting an impressive 77 percent from the foul-line.
