As the investigation into the mysterious disappearance and death of Celina Cass continues, New Hampshire authorities say they will release results from an autopsy on the 11-year-old’s body by late Tuesday. Divers discovered Cass’s body Monday morning in the Connecticut River about a quarter of a mile away from her home in Stewartstown.
"We have brought Celina home, not the way we wanted to bring her home," New Hampshire Senior Assistant Attorney General Jane Young said, adding that Cass’s case went from being a missing persons case to an investigation in to a “suspicious death.”
A massive search for the fifth grader was launched following her disappearance last week. Cass was last seen in her room at her mom’s home at 9 p.m. on July 25. She was reported missing the next morning when her parents found her room empty. There were no signs of a struggle and no indications that she ran away.
