Lance Armstrong will compete in the upcoming Tour de
France despite suffering a broken collarbone, his longtime coach announced Tuesday.
“This doesn’t change anything for the Tour de France,”
said ASTANA team manager Johan Bruyneel.
Armstrong, 37,
broke his collarbone in a crash during Monday’s Castille y Leon race in Spain. The
seven time Tour de France winner has returned to the United States to see his
doctors. Bruyneel describes the break as a “clean fracture without
complications.”
Tour de France begins July 4.
