Baseball Hall of Famer George Kell died Tuesday at his
Arkansas home. The third baseman and longtime broadcaster passed away in his
sleep. He was 86. The cause of death has not been determined.
Kelly was named an All-Star during 10 of his 15 seasons
in Major League Baseball. He played for the Philadelphia Athletics, Detroit
Tigers, Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox and Baltimore Orioles.
After retiring from baseball, Kell broadcast Tigers games
from 1959 to 1996.
Funeral services are planned for March 27 at Swifton United
Methodist Church in Arkansas.
