Preseason Coaches Poll has Okalhoma Number One

The preseason college football polls have been released and the number one team in the country is the Oklahoma Sooners. Oklahoma is followed by the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Oregon Ducks.

Out of a possible 59 first place votes the Sooners received 42 to hold the No. 1 spot by a wide margin. Alabama received 13 first place votes while the runners up in the BCS Championship game, Oregon, and LSU split the remaining four votes.

LSU and Oregon will face off in their season opener on September 3rd in a matchup with huge implications for both teams.

The top ten of the rankings rounded out with Florida State, Stanford, Boise State, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and Wisconsin. Defending national champions Auburn is ranked 19th, the lowest for a defending champion since the poll began in 1991. TCU, second in last year's final poll, is ranked 15th.
