Hockey star Sean Avery was arrested at his Hollywood home early Friday morning. Los Angeles police were responding to a noise complaint at Avery’s residence around 1 a.m. when the New York Rangers star allegedly shoved an officer and slammed his door. Additional officers were called to the scene to help take Avery into custody.
"He didn't want to turn down the music at his home," said a police spokesperson.
Avery, 31, was charged with misdemeanor battery on a police officer. Bail was set at $20,000. A Rangers spokesman refused to comment on Avery’s arrest. “We will discuss the matter with Sean and have not further comment at this time,” the rep said.
No other details were immediately available.
