Pakistani Army Kills More than Two Dozen Militants Near Afghan Border

A battle between the Pakistani army and insurgents in Mohmand, North-West Frontier Province has left at least 26 militants dead.

The attack along the Afghan border came after the chairman of the U.S. Joints Chiefs of Staff expressed belief that some members of Pakistan’s ISI military intelligence had been working alongside Taliban militants.

While Pakistan has pledged to end terrorist activity within its borders the Taliban has maintained a strong presence along the Afghan border in the northwest territories. Those militants often target NATO forces carrying out operations in Afghanistan.
