The NCAA tournament Final Four puzzle will get its final pieces on Sunday as the Louisville Cardinals and Michigan State Spartans face off in the Midwest Region while the #1 North Carolina Tar Heels and the #2 Oklahoma Sooners do battle in the second game in the South Region.
North Carolina has yet to be seriously tested in the NCAA tournament as they marched past Radford in the first round before taking care of LSU and then Gonzaga in the Sweet 16. The Tar Heels appear to be hitting their stride with the return of Ty Lawson and the consistent play of Tyler Hansbrough and Wayne Ellington and they could cause major headaches for Oklahoma.
The Sooners have jumped on the back of Blake Griffin and he has led them past Morgan State and Michigan in the opening two rounds and then a Sweet 16 victory over Syracuse. While Griffin has been the Sooners’ leader it will take a big game from Willie Warren and Austin Johnson to give Oklahoma a shot on Sunday as the Tar Heels defense will almost certainly be collapsing on Griffin.
Tip-off for the North Carolina Tar Heels and Oklahoma Sooners is set for 5:05 p.m. ET.
