Sunday’s
passenger train crash in Tanzania that killed at least seven people and injured
several more was intentional according to officials.
Police
have arrested seven people who they believe took part in the plan which was
plotted as a means of stealing fuel from the train’s tanks. The train was just
outside Dodoma’s Mpwapwa District when it slammed into a stationary cargo
train.
The
driver of the cargo train and the station master were among those arrested.
Officials
are still working on separating the crushed rail cars and retrieving bodies
from the accident scene which could boost the death toll.
